Grew up in Jokkmokk, where she lives today. Spik Skum works with different techniques and materials. She works with traditional duojde as well as innovative and conceptual duodje.
The Lule Sami culture forms the basis for Spik Skums creation and she are inspired by older duodje. The material ofher duodje often consists of traditional materials such as tanned reindeer skin, reindeer leg skins, tin thread, yarn and so on. But when she create works other than traditional duodje, the expression varies.
She often create her works individually but also collaborate with other artists and other Sami craftspeople. In 2022, Spik Skum have participated in the project The vuogas way during the festival Márkomeannu, the Luleå Biennial and the group exhibition Máttaráhkko and I at Tjörnedala konsthall.
Spik Skum also works to convey duodje to others by arranging workshops and courses in duodje.
