Sami Artist Council

The Sami Artist Council (SDR) is an organisation founded by Sami artist member organisations in 1987. The purpose is to promote good and versatile Sami art. The Sami Artist Council serves as a council body for 6 member organisations, represented by yoikers, film workers, writers, visual artists, performing artists and composers from four countries. SDR will work to promote the economic and artistic interests of member organisations, and will manage support schemes for sami artists and institutions. SDR receives financial support from the Sámi Parliaments in Norway, Finland and Sweden and the Nordic Council og Ministers.
