I am a producer and filmmaker. My work explores psychological themes relating to her experience as an Indigenous Sámi Woman.
In 2009 I was the director of the Sami Film Festival and later that year I became the youngest ever Editor in Chief of Ávvir, the only Sámi-language daily news publication. I had a core contribution to the joint Sámi Parliament and Norwegian governments preparation for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and I have worked with youth in the Sami Pathfinders Program, combatting racism and prejudice. I was hired as the script supervisor for Ole Giæver and Mer Films’ feature film Ellos Eatnu (Let the river flow), and soon became a part of the core team. I have been involved in the editing process and the strategizing pre-launch marketing. I have also contributed to the Fenomen Film, Rein Film and NRK drama series Vi lover et helvete (Saving the fuckin planet), as script consultant and translator. Sara is a mother of four and lives in Guovdageaidnu, in the Norwegian Arctic.
